Where is the secluded windmill in hidden chronicles

The queue for a drink was like queuing for a ride at Disney. The management really need to look at this. We saw several people walk out.

Nice pub but will not return if this system continues. Quicker over the road at Weatherspoons. DeGinner Leeds, UK 38 contributions.

Stayed at the hotel next door so we thought we would nip in here for an evening meal as I have chronic back pain and couldnt walk far on this day. Once we where sat at our table, it all started going down hill! We downloaded the app, to avoid having to go to the bar to order, but for some reason the kids meal deal on the menu wasnt available to order on the app, so we had to go to the bar anyway. My partner didnt enjoy her wrap, said it tasted like someone had just thrown spice powder on the halumi at the last second, my daughter didnt enjoy her pizza, the portion of chips was way to small for the price and my roast was ok, but was missing the best bit, a yorkshire pudding!

When my partner ordered my roast, she asked if she needed to order the dessert for the 2 course roast deal, and was told she could do it after the meal. After the meal I went to order my dessert and was told that we should have ordered it at the same time as the main, and we would have to pay for it now, which I did I have mental health issues and cant argue in cases like this.

When I told my partner, she went back to the bar, explained what had happened, and after a while they refunded the price of the dessert.

We thought this meant we would be getting the dessert as part of the deal, but it turns out it was just canceled, so we never even got the deal! There is no cheaper option to get the roast not on the 2 course deal. Why would they not inform you of this at the time of paying? Who would turn down a free starter or dessert, the whole thing just stinks of greed. Needless to say we will not be returning.

This was a venue where they take their responsibilities for keeping customers safe very seriously. Staff were courteous and professional. Beers were in great condition and well priced. I didn't eat here but the food looked great. Brodleaf Livingston, UK 88 contributions. I was staying just along from this pub and was looking for somewhere nice to get a meal and a couple of pints in the evening.

Traveling in the midst of the Pandemic it was trickier than usual to find somewhere but this looked well organised from outside. Sure enough all of the new procedures were in place, track and trace, ordering through the app, and everything was well in hand. Food was good, service was quick and friendly, what more could you want.

Biscuit Ossett, UK 70 contributions. Arrived here last night with 3 friends after returning from Thirsk races and all of us were starving so decided to come here as it was a short walk from train station.

Found out seats outside as it was a lovely warm evening and decided to order through the Greene King app. I ordered a mixed grill as did my friend and my other friends ordered a margarita pizza and a 12oz sirloin steak. Food came in 40 mins to be fair and all food was practically lukewarm, although our mixed grills were nice they forgot our fried eggs what kind of establishment serves a mixed grill without fried eggs?

The bit that annoyed me most about all this is the appalling service. Had to ask where our drinks were 15 mins after ordering also after our meals were served we never got asked by anyone how our meals were, service absolutely appalling and also there was about 5 tables with plates and dishes just left and not cleared up.

This is a cosy place, the table we sat at had stools and this wasnt entirely comfortable, but we asked to move and this was fine. The ordering system for the drinks is flawed, we ordered a kids cranberry juice and a gin, for some reason they were put together and when we told the lady who brought it she said it's fine, we explained they were supposed to be separate drinks she refused to replace them and said it can be like a cocktail you can just re-order eventhough it wasnt our fault and she said she would get our child tap water instead, thought this was a bit out of order.

Holgate Windmill is definitely worth a visit. They have regular open days throughout the year; however, it is advisable to check the website before you go to make sure it is open. There are information boards depicting the life story of the mill and there are toilet facilities inside the mill. Read more. John M Bromley, UK 2 contributions.

Not only is this a cracking windmill but there's a lovely young couple who live at number 44 just next door who are offering free cream teas through September. Just knock on the door. Who knew we had windmills in Yorkshire? I couldn't quite believe when someone send me to a village outside York to view a windmill on a roundabout but here we were! Frannyfc Halifax, UK 69 contributions. BohoChick Scotland, UK contributions. We drove to see this as saw it from the city walls and were interested to see it up close.

You can park for free as it's within a residential estate. We were greeted by a lovely lady called Rosie who gave us a tour of the windmill. The kids loved the mini flour mill that they could use to make flour to see how the windmill works. They also loved climbing up the ladders to each level of the windmill. It was very interesting to learn the history of this windmill including the restoration work and also to see how it works, they were making flour when we visited and the windmill was working very fast as it was so windy.

Great for a wee visit but the climbing ladders to upper levels would not be suitable for people with mobility problems or very young children. Only a mile and a half from York's City Centre there is a fully restored working Windmill which is open on certain days and is well worth a visit just to view a old Windmill on a roundabout in a housing estate.

Built in it is fantastic historic reminder how Towns and Villages relied on such establishments to provide Flour. For open days and further information visit www. Located outside of the bustle of central york on a sleepy surburban side street is this little gem. Catch it on its open days and you can have a tour of all levels inside this restored working windmill. You can even buy the milled flour! Run by local volunteers, it is a great example of a community project, so please visit and show your support.

We visited recently and my partner had some fascinating conversations with the volunteers who talked us though the working's and the restoration journey. The open days are available on its website. Well worth a visit!! Excellent working mill in middle of housing estate in Holgate Great intro by knowledgeable volunteers Worth while visit Park on York Road and walk through to windmill.

Steve-and-Andie Lancaster, UK 3, contributions. Who would have thought there would be a windmill in the middle of a housing estate on the outskirts of York? Well we didn't, and so glad we popped up to have a look. Unfortunately for us entry to the upper floors was closed due to essential maintenance but staff on site did let us have a peek at the first floor as it was quiet.

This is the last mill in York and is in full working order. Would be well worth the few quid entrance fee to explore in more detail. MsEmmerson York, UK 36 contributions. We live a short walk away from Holgate Windmill and have visited on numerous occasions.
